My two favorite stores on Union Square are Urban Outfitters & Anthropologie - Not surprising since they have some of the loveliest prints and flattering silhouettes for fall. Walking into either of these stores always makes me feel like a dainty lady, or a princess in a candy shop, spoilt for choice by so many adorable prints, princessy (but not in a too-dramatic way) dresses, the ruffling - just enough, not too overwhelming. I love how everything is seemingly oh-so-casually displayed all around the store as if to saturate your senses, literally taking you in, and I definitely appreciate the quaint decor, ooh-ing and aah-ing over a vintage typewriter, or a fascinating table display, or a cute upholstered chair. I love feeling the fabric of each dress, coat, pants, sometimes putting my cheek on a particularly soft dress. I'm dazed by the possibilities: I could layer this piece with that, or that! And how lovely and welcoming to be surprised by the occasional burst of color amongst the fall colors!
It's coming into fall here in the Bay Area, and all I'm dreaming of lovely cardigans, sweaters under printed dresses, and boots, boots, ohh, boots. Here are some of the things enticing me:
